On to San Antonio

This morning we woke up fairly early. To be perfectly honest, Brock and I were really looking forward to leaving our current campground behind. The traffic noise and no solid sleep for the last four nights has left us pretty tired. We were pulling out by 9:40 am. There was a double purpose to getting on the road earlier than usual. We were trying to avoid the congested Houston traffic since we had to drive right through the same busy city center that we'd been visiting the last few days except this time we'd be pulling our big trailer behind us.

The traffic was still busy, but much lighter than our 5 pm experiences of the last two evenings. With only a little stress, Brock navigated those freeways without any trouble. After we got out of the city center area, the wind started to pick up. Once again, Brock felt like he was wrestling with our trailer for a good couple of hours while the wind kind of shoved us every now and then. Not a relaxing drive and makes for some pretty tense muscles. Thankfully we didn't have any rain so visibility was great.

We arrived at our RV resort here in San Antonio and the check in process was amazingly fast. What wasn't fast was that there were three huge class A's with tow vehicles lined up in the park's one entrance/exit road which has a corner on it. There was a bit of a traffic jam there for a little while, but we eventually got into the actual campground loop and came around to our site, a pull through. The leveling, unhooking and connecting to utilities went very smoothly and quickly. This park has a couple of dog runs, a playground, and a heated pool so there are some good options compared to where we came from.

We had a nice relaxing afternoon just kind of lazing around and watching TV. I am still amazed at how, now that we don't have cable all the time, we all get quite sucked in whenever a TV is on. ;o) Oh well, a little vegging is good now and then, I think. We chose a Redbox movie for tonight and we all watched, Here Comes the Boom. It was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

Well, I'm making an effort to go to bed a little early since we are springing forward. Looking forward to attending church tomorrow with one of Brock's HTG friends here in San Antonio.
