Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Tour of Nashville, Sort Of

We tried to sleep in today, but it didn't really work out. We had our pancakes for breakfast and then got ready for our day exploring Nashville.

The first stop was to head back to the tire shop because Brock suspected that a tire might be out of balance, the symptom being a little vibration at certain speeds that we hadn't noticed before the new. We walked around the Academy Sports store next door while we waited for the Yukon to be checked over. When the manager came back he said they had replaced the two left tires because they had a little "movement in them". Not sure what that means, but I guess it's good they were replaced. We're not 100 percent sure that the problem is fixed so we're going to keep an eye on it. That's the nice thing about using Discount Tire. They seem to have great customer service and they are all over the country.

Once we finished at the tire shop, we headed to Camping World to return the stabilizing braces we'd bought last month in Fort Worth. We are sad that they had to be returned. They worked really well if it weren't for their super cheap execution; we think with quality materials they could've been great. Camping World was great about taking them back and we got credit to look for something else only we couldn't find anything to stabilize front to back and left to right. :O( We ended up getting some wheel chock stabilizers which will be good for front to back.

By the time we finished up that errand, we were all starving and most of our exploring day was gone. Brock looked up close by restaurants and we chose to try the Santa Fe Cattle Company which is a peanut shells on the floor kind of place and we all had a pretty good meal.

We decided to go ahead and try to head down to Centennial Park to see the Parthenon, a full-size replica of the Greek temple that was built in the 400's BC.

After strolling around the park, we thought we'd head downtown to see what was going on. Thought we might catch a glimpse or hear a note of music from some celebrity, but once we drove around a little in the downtown area, we changed our minds. We got to see some of the city from our car windows and we decided that we were actually ok with that.

We hit Costco on the way back to the trailer and filled up the Yukon's gas tank for tomorrow, picked up a few snacky foods, and got ourselves a treat before taking off on our 45 minute drive back to the campground. Tom directed us on a completely different route and it turned out to be a really beautiful country drive at just about sunset.

When we got back, Brighton was thrilled to be invited by his friend to do a little fishing. Bryn headed up to the basketball court for a couple games of P-I-G and H-O-R-S-E. I took Heidi for a good walk enjoying seeing the sparking campfires and fireflies. The campground is completely full and there was a lot of activity going on even after it was completely dark.
