Welcome to our Adventure...
We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.

Not much action but a new blog site
We finally got some good sleep last night! Well, as good as to be expected. I awoke to the sound of wind which means pull in our fancy electric awning before it gets ripped from the side of our trailer. Once this was done, I got some good sleep.
It was raining this morning when we started the day. We were back on schedule although we started a bit late. The campground wireless seems to be decent so everyone was happy checking email, downloading updates and new apps for their electronic gadgets.
Stacey and the kids caught up on school and laundry. We happen to take up the whole laundry room when we hit it which normally this time of the year is not a problem but there happened to be another home-school family here so the battle was on!
Not much in terms of tourist or on-site learning today. After my work shift I took the Yukon up the street here for an oil change, tire rotation and wash. Would you believe we are at about 5400 miles so far? We are getting a whopping 8.1 MPG on average. And the gas prices here in New York are just over $4 a gallon so we are feeling it in the gas tanks.
One of the things we (maybe just I) have missed the least is the TV. We do have cable here and the kids were watching a movie on it when I got back from the shop. I forgot how distracting it was to have on when you are trying to talk or concentrate. They enjoyed it for a small while and played some Wii before dinner. Stacey made Fajitas which were a nice change.
Brighton has decided to take up harmonica and was trying to play some blues today. We are letting him split his video editing time with music time but so far we have not seen many results on the video side. Hopefully some Niagara shots are on their way.
Wow, this sure is a boring post for the first entry on our new site! I am afraid tomorrow may not be much better as we have another low key day planned but then we will be heading out early Wednesday to drive through the Adirondack mountains. We are looking forward to the sights and the drive and plan to end up close to Vermont by the end of the day.
