Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Seasons in the Sun

We had a good day today. The kids were pretty motivated to get school finished as early as they could because of rumors of a pool at our new campground. When it was about 11:45, I moved my attention to lunch prep. After we ate, since Brock was still working, the kids and I started on the unhooking procedures. We saw this really unique spider on our power post. The plan was to get checked out of Indian Forest Campground around 12:30 today and drive about an hour and a half south to Seasons in the Sun RV Park, which is near Kennedy Space Center. In actuality, we didn't get checked out until about 1:45, but it was a beautiful calm, sunny day and about 75 degrees. We read two of our books we read together in the car on  the way so that when we pulled in to the campground, we just had to fire up my laptop to go over our study questions and then we could head to the pool!

Gratuitous "Wish You Were Here in Sunny Florida" shot :0)

Such Goofball Kids we have!

Cool Spanish moss - They have some of it uplighted
at night and it actually looks more beautiful than creepy.
Tonight, after swimming, we were headed to the trailer so that we could eat dinner. Brock was still up at the clubhouse near the pool where he could use the campground's wifi to finish up his work day. One of the campground employees stopped Sky and I on the road and made small talk. We were next to a small pond, one of several, around the campground. The employee said from his golf cart, "We do have gators in the ponds." I said, "OK. Do you mean 'gators' or 'GATORS'?" He replied, "GATORS. We have one that's at least 5 or 6 feet down in the big pond by where the swimming pools are located and all the ponds are connected by culverts and the gators can travel into anyone they want so be careful." "Well, ok then," I'm thinking. We'll be keeping our eyes open and staying away from the ponds. How dangerous and exciting I'm thinking, as everyone else is completely nonchalant. Well, not Brighton when he had to take Heidi out after dark. Hee hee hee.

  1. Ewwww, creepy about the alligators! If you've studied them, you know that they can move fast so please be careful!
Enjoyed seeing everyone having a great time in the pool/hot tub! I hope you were able to enjoy some time in the hot tub Stacey and Brock!

  3. Hi Keri. We are loving your Florida weather too. Thanks for your comment. We will be hanging around Florida and surrounding states for the winter too. Not sure where you're from in Florida, but let us know if you'd like to try to meet. We haven't met any other roadschoolers in person on our journey yet. :O)
