Today we were able to have a leisurely Sunday morning, with the adults drinking coffee in our pjs. Brock read the free Sunday paper that the campground delivered to our site. Then, we got ready for church and headed to East Point Assembly of God which was less than ten minutes away. Well, it would've been if I hadn't missed my navigation cue, but two little butterfly exit ramps later and we were there. ;o)
It was a small, very friendly church pastored by passionate man from Alabama. He had a great sense of humor and it was just fun to listen to him. There was a guest speaker missionary itinerating for his assignment to Europe. He had a compelling message for us about the importance of prayer.
The plan for after church was for Spencer and Brock to have a guys' day out for the afternoon in early celebration of Spencer's birthday this week since Brock flies out on Tuesday, the day before the actual birthday. They decided to go see Wreck It Ralph. The movie was at 1:45 and we got out of church after 12:30. We hoped for everyone to be able to grab lunch at Steak N' Shake but by the time we found it and checked in at the door, it was very busy and it was then too close to movie time. We dropped Brock and Spencer at the theater and they had movie popcorn, sodas and skittles for lunch while the rest of us went back to the campground and had leftover Chinese and listened to Christmas music.
When it was time to pick up the guys, we got to the theater just fine thanks to Tom. :O) He's been very dependable lately thanks to his new power source.
The whole family headed to Target to pick up some bones for Heidi as she's been a little naughty about grabbing our shoes and playing with them so we think she's bored. While there, we picked up a few food items, I'd forgotten on our last shopping trip and we were able to steathily do some birthday shopping for Spencer while he was off looking at Wii games with Dad.
When we got back to the campground, we all got our swimsuits on and headed to the pool. It was very warm and we spent a little over an hour there and then decided Brock and Bryn would head to Redbox because we've been trying to get a copy of Brave for awhile and there was one available less than a mile away. While he was gone, I made a salad and cooked up a couple of pizzas, Freschetta brick oven; they were pretty good!
We started the movie right when Brock got back and it was enjoyed by everyone. Ben had to plug his ears a few times and spent a little time watching from my lap during scary parts, but it had an overall good message and some good humor. The kids topped off the night with a spoonful of ice cream (since it was already past bedtime) and then they all headed to bed.
Brock and I cuddled up and watched The Vow by ourselves. It was a good movie, but left us very thankful that we both remember each other and share our important memories of each other!
Welcome to our Adventure...
We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
