Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Acadia Day 2

Another nice weather day here in Maine. Work and school took most of the day. Around 4PM we decided we needed to see some more of the island we had not seen yet. We drove south through Bar Harbor and west to a fjord that they have here (I think the only one on the east coast?) It was pretty but after seeing the Kenai Fjord in Alaska it is really hard to compare that with the one here. Wow, I sound like a travel snob now!

The Fjord

It was still very beautiful. We started planning for our next move which it tomorrow. We will be heading to Freeport for a few days and then leave Saturday for the Boston area. Everything is, as the locals would say, "wicked" expensive camping wise around Boston and by around I mean like 30 to 50 miles from the city. I think we will have to think of it like being cheaper than a hotel and just the dues we pay to see the history and sites in the area. Good news is that our museum pass should get us into a couple of nice museums while we are there.

Skylar has been anticipating his birthday which is on the 11th. We are still trying to figure out what we can do on the trip to make it special for him. This morning he got up and asked if his party was today. Not sure if that was a subtle hint or he thinks parties preceed the actual birthday. Hopefully we can figure out something more fun than visiting the giant LL Bean "Beanie" boot.
