Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Tornadoes in the Mountains?

Today was a normal day around the trailer with school and work. The humidity outside was very high and the clouds moved quickly and became thicker and thicker as the day progressed. There were a few sprinkles of rain throughout the early afternoon and finally in the late afternoon the thunder started rolling. There opened up a major downpour. We're thankful that the park here has a good drainage system. The ditches that the kids have been watching the frogs and tadpoles in became filled with muddy water.

I saw a Facebook post from Penny, the new friend who is visiting Pigeon Forge, which said that Pigeon Forge had a tornado warning. What?! I've never heard of tornadoes in the mountains.  At that point we were definitely in a severe thunderstorm and we really felt kind of helpless since there really isn't anywhere to go if there was a tornado. Gratefully, the storm just blew over and we really only had to watch anxiously for about 10 minutes before it was over. She also posted that they saw some hail where they were, but thankfully, we didn't.

There's not too much more exciting to tell about today.

Spencer and Skylar may have found leeches in the same ditch as the tadpoles. I'm not sure because I don't think I've ever seen them in real life before, but there were black squigglies that weren't tadpoles in the runoff. Ewww.

Brynna got some nice pics this evening of a cute bunny she saw when walking Heidi. It wasn't easily intimidated so Bryn was able to bring Heidi back and grab the camera and go back and take these shots.
