Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Last Day in San Antonio

This morning Brock blew out of the trailer, running late, to take the Yukon in for the infamous shock replacement appointment. The repair took about an hour. The shop waiting area was packed, but thankfully "Brock's desk" was available and he got some work done there. Happily, the ride control warning message is now gone and all systems should be go. We waited and waited for the insurance company adjustor to call us back to tell us how to proceed about the rock chip. We'd called them three times and each time they just told us we had to wait to hear. Finally, we heard in the afternoon we could take it in to get fixed at no cost to us and no deductible. The glass repair shop didn't have any openings today, so Brock made an appointment to take it in in the morning before we check out from the campground. The kids and I will batten down the trailer "hatches" so it will be ready to hook up when Brock gets back with the Yukon.

I tried to call to make the reservation at the campground that we are looking at in Bandera and had to just leave a message. We didn't hear back from them tonight. :O( Guess we play it by ear.

The kids and I worked on school today. All of us felt a little better today. The cold symptoms are decreasing. Bryn still didn't have any swelling from her bee sting, but the foot was still pretty sore and she wasn't walking on it a lot. I took her turns with walking Heidi. The weather today was still just beautiful. It was sunny, warm with a really nice breeze.

In the evening, just when Brock got home, I took the kids down to the pool for one last swim. Well, for them. I just sat and watched. They said the water was "hose cold" so I'm thinking I made the right choice. When I got them out 40 minutes later so that we could get back to eat the already baked lasagna, and see Daddy who was tying up a couple of loose ends at the end of the day, we got to see a really pretty sunset. I suspect that the weather is changing and the sun looked like it was sinking into the clouds.

My pictures turned out blurry. Bummer.

Skylar went right into the bunk room and created this note for Brynna last night when we were doctoring her bee sting.
Even he isn't sure exactly what he wrote with his inventive spelling, but something
about being very sorry about the bee. I LOVE the bee's angry face. So sweet.
