Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Melting Monday

Today was a beautiful day. It was so sunny and hot; I think it hit 95 degrees! We stayed inside the trailer much of the day. Brock worked from home in the morning for his first meeting and then went in to Brandon's office to await the call from the brake shop so they could install the new shocks. On his way out, Brock dropped Spence and I off at the park's laundry room this morning so we could get the laundry started. I was surprised to see that there were only two machines available out of about 28 washing machines. I guess Monday mornings are a popular laundry time slot! Spence and I sat in the comfy couches and staggered the loads as machines became available. Once we got all four loads going in dryers, Spence and I walked back to the trailer to check on the other kids. They were all plugging away on what they were supposed to be doing. Yes! :o)

Next, I lined out Spencer with a list of what to do, Brighton was working on a Math final (so proud, he got a 98%!!), and I asked Sky to get dressed and brush his teeth and then get back to playing quietly with his toys. Bryn and I grabbed the scooters (to help us put wheels on the laundry baskets because they are heavy and it is a LONG ways back from the laundry room) and headed back to start folding. (Brighton walked down to the clubhouse to fill his coffee cup with the free coffee this morning and came back and reported that from the clubhouse to the trailer is 932 steps. I think the laundry is a little further.) Kathy, who is a general manager here at the resort, met us on the road in her little golf cart and made some joke about the scooters and me breaking bones. I laughed and told her they were for the laundry. We were so surprised when we finished folding and came out to see that Kathy just happened to be right near the laundry building and she offered us a ride back. Soo nice. Thank you, Kathy! It was so hot and our noses were so stuffy and it was wonderful to just get back and put away the clothes.

Brock called around 2:30 to update me. Our parts are in at the brake shop! Unfortunately, the shop didn't have time to put them in until tomorrow morning. This would make it very tight to try to check out of the RV park tomorrow before 11 am so we talked about it and decided to extend our stay, yet again, by one more day. In addition (!), when Brock was on his way to Brandon's office, a dump truck going the other way threw a rock and hit the right side of our windshield and made a big starburst about the size of a quarter. Huh? Anything else?

Brock came back to the trailer to finish up his work day and stopped at the park's office. Thankfully, our extra night's stay worked out yet again.

The kids and I finished up our school work and they set to work on a film project that Brighton hatched up. As they came in from outside so that we could eat, Brynna started to scream and cry and it turned out that she had stepped on a honeybee in the middle of the kitchen floor in the trailer. It must've come in with them. It was her first sting, so we quickly got the wet baking soda on it and a little ice pack and watched her for swelling. She was fine. Phew!

We ate our dinner (tacos) and afterwards Brock returned Wreck It Ralph to Redbox and picked up a couple more boxes of kleenex at the Walgreens it was attached to. We are going through them like crazy. I think we will be feeling better tomorrow though, after a good night's sleep.
