Check-out time at our state park wasn't until 2 pm so it was nice to have a somewhat relaxing morning. Brock took Heidi for a run. The little boys played outside with a campground friend. It was nice. We kind of ate breakfast in shifts as we were ready so mine was hot, which was nice. Then we were able to start our battening down process to prepare for pulling out. Brock had to do a quick rinse of pretty much the whole trailer with the washing brush because of that stupid cardinal pooping and spreading it all over with his flapping and slapping with his wings. He got every window and woke us up with tapping on our diamond plating on the front of the trailer right at our heads.
We were able to leave around 1 pm. One of the challenges of life in the RV for our family is having enough cold water to drink. We just can't keep enough filtered water in the fridge for us all. With all the activity getting ready, we'd worked up a bit of a thirst, so one of the last things I did was stand and wait for the pitcher to drip.
We had a pretty decent driving day. Well, I say that, but I didn't do any of the driving. It wasn't too windy though there were a few surprise gusts that pushed the rig around a bit. We stopped at the first rest stop as we crossed into Oklahoma, but as Brock turned off the engine, we saw a ton of "bugs" flying around, but as they came into focus, we could see that they were bees! They were really swarming, as if we'd driven over a hive or something, so most of us voted to keep driving and stop later. About a half hour down the road, we stopped at a Flying J and filled up and then parked so we could all use the bathroom and I made some sandwiches for lunch. It was a nice break time.
We got back on the road and drove on to our campground encountering only one brief, but ominous-looking rainstorm.
We arrived at our RV park for the next few nights and got all checked in and hooked up. We are looking forward to checking out Oklahoma City tomorrow.
