The plans were to get started early today to be able to get to Dallas before 5PM. The drive from Amarillo to Dallas showed as about 6 hours so we would need to leave pretty early since we have to stop for breaks and lunch. When I woke up I found that Stacey had been up for a while and in some pretty intense pain. We decided she needed to go to the urgent care center when they opened at 8AM. The kids and I prayed for her and got the trailer ready while she was gone. The report came back that she should be better in a couple of days with some antibiotics.
We were able to pull out of Fort Amarillo RV Park around 10:30AM. The winds had definitely died down and it was a nice sunny day. The drive went really well except we arrived in Fort Worth about 5PM and were met with rush hour traffic. It took an hour and a half or so to reach our campground. We are finally back at a state park that is just outside of Dallas. It is a pretty big park but has nice green grass and trees - something we have really been missing since entering New Mexico and Amarillo. When we arrived the kids went to the nearby playground to play while I caught up on some work.
Tomorrow we hope to check out the Fort Worth area and maybe see the stockyards where they run the cattle through town twice a day. Tonight we are just hoping for some good sleep with being able to hear the crickets at night and hopefully no traffic or wind noises.
