Yesterday we hit 97 degrees here in Amarillo and had the A/C cranked up all day to keep us cool. Things sure have changed! As I sit here writing this the winds are rocking the trailer and it is 39 DEGREES OUTSIDE! I took Heidi for a final walk of the evening and felt like I was in the beginning stages of frostbite by the time we got back! Pretty crazy weather for the 1st of May. They are even saying they may get some blowing snow overnight.
Today we all had to get back in the swing of things after having a couple of days off. A little grumpiness and bursts of disrespect all around but we pulled out our good attitudes and finished our assignments. Stacey and I did get to go to the workout room together which was nice. Spence came along and did some school work on the weight bench as we did our cardio exercises. He even bench pressed some on the universal weight machines when he had finished his assignments. We were thinking we would hit the pool after school finished up but by that time we were cold and swimming did not sound overly attractive.
We are planning on heading to Dallas tomorrow which is over 6 hours of driving so we had to go stock up on some supplies at Walmart before we head out. The trip went amazingly smoothly with the kids helping out and everyone having good attitudes. The winds are high enough that it may be pretty sketchy driving with the trailer tomorrow so we are thinking we will wait as close to check out time as we can before heading out to give the winds time to die down as much as possible. The temps are supposed to be back above 70 this weekend!
