We started our Friday with haircuts for all the boys. Most came willingly, looking for the summer buzz to be low maintenance and keep them cool. I cut Brock a little short last time so he just needed a trim around the edges.
Once Brock had his morning check-ins and day-planning done, I drove him to Lamm Tech's office so that he could have a quiet environment to work in for a few hours. George wasn't there because he and his family were having their garage sale this weekend so he had the day off from IT work.
The kids and I got our schoolwork done. And in the afternoon went back to Walmart. We needed an oil change and to pick up a few supplies because we were invited to dinner at the Love's home and we were pleased to be able to contribute a salad and dessert.
Once we finished up at Walmart, we swung back Lamm Tech to pick up Brock and head back to the trailer. Brock finished up his work day, I made some brownies and prepped the salad fixings, Bri and Bryn fed and walked Heidi, and somehow their was an overabundance of card tricks attempting to be performed during that time as well. We are busy people, I guess. ;-)
Finally, it was time to drive over to the Love's. Dinner was ready when we got there and we all fixed our plates and sat down to a delicious meal of homecooked roast, potatoes, and carrots. It was wonderful and we once enjoyed getting to visit with George, Amber, and Gabbie. We enjoyed hearing about George and Amber's experiences as foster parents. The kids had a great time playing outside together and then inside once it started to get dark.
We didn't end up getting back to the trailer until about 10 pm!
We are grateful to the Loves for their hospitality on a very busy weekend for them and hope we didn't overstay our welcome. Hopefully, the second day of your garage sale will be even more profitable than your first!
