Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Indiana, Kentucky and Indiana Again

This morning the kids worked on their little bit of school and got their chores done so they could go out and play on the playground at Whispering Hills one more time. There were several kids that they'd become familiar with including one little 5 year old girl who just LOVED Brynna. She looked so sad with tears in her eyes when we left.

I worked on a few of the trailer "prep for leaving" tasks that Brock would normally do since he had some work meetings to get done before we left.

And then, we were on the road again...

We drove a little over 2 hours. Today was nice and sunny and not too warm. It actually felt great in the morning being a little cooler than it's been and not nearly as muggy.

During the course of our drive, we left Kentucky and ended up at a little campground on the Ohio River that is in the state of Indiana. I think if you stepped out a little bit into the river you'd be back in Kentucky. ;o)

The road into the park had us a little worried. It was pretty narrow and very wind-y. But then it opened up and we pulled right into our reserved and paid for site. We took a site that is "interior" or not front row to the river, because they are $10 a night cheaper, but we can still see the river and we have some wonderful shade trees around us and the same full hook ups. The one surprise is no Verizon signal at all. I guess we are right up against a rock wall of mountain. The camp host said we would get signal if we went out by the river, but we haven't tested it yet. Thankfully, there is wifi at the park so Brock can still work and he even was able to do a couple of calls over the wifi this afternoon. This park has lots of really nice grass that is thick and green and freshly mowed. The little boys played on and rolled around in it pretty much all afternoon. They both had nice long showers when they came in.

Skylar came in needing a big drink this evening and when he went to open his water bottle with his teeth as he normally does, he evidently loosened one of his teeth. He was pretty concerned about it, but I told him it must just be getting ready to come out. Well, I was right because after his shower tonight he said, "I think my tooth needs to come out." He kept fiddling with it and it was bleeding a little. I put on a little bit of Orajel and we wiggled it some more until it popped out. This is his third baby tooth on the bottom that he's lost, but he still has his front top teeth and they don't feel loose to me at all yet.

We plan to explore Marengo Cave which is close to this area on Saturday and then head North from here. It's fun looking forward and realizing that we are getting closer to home. BUT, I am having a hard time believing that in just a couple of days our first baby will be turning 15 years old! Trying to figure out ways to make his birthday special even though the actual day will be a fairly long drive day.
