Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Last Full Day in the Buckeye State

I got up early again today and this time just took Spence with me to drop Brock off at Joe's office.
We went there and back in about an hour.

The kids and I got ourselves all ready for the day and did our chores and then we spent a little time just hanging out at the trailer. The plan was that we would head back to Joe's office to get Brock at lunch time and we would all go out to lunch with Joe and Rhonda.

I made reservations at our next campground and sent Bri up to the office to make arrangements to get one of our propane tanks filled. They said we could pick it up after lunch when we had the car so that was great. This park is arranged in a big one-way loop so it worked out well to pick it up on our way back in after lunch.

It was in the 90's again outside. There were some big gray clouds building. Rhonda came out of the office just after Brock and said Joe was still in a meeting so she hopped in the Yukon with us and directed us to a restaurant called the Waterloo. Brock saw a couple lightning strikes while we were driving so we guessed something was on its way. We got the car parked and got seated in the restaurant and we got our drinks and looked at the menu while Joe and their financial officer, Rod, caught up to us. We all ordered and more than half of us got BLTs which really tasted delicious. We enjoyed our meal and conversation. I love that we are meeting and developing friendships with lots of new people all over the country. Joe and Rhonda are no exception. Our whole family has enjoyed our time with them.

We left the restaurant as the rain started pouring down and the thunder booming. We drove on towards the trailer and the skies started getting lighter and lighter in the direction we were going. At the RV park, it didn't even look like it had rained. We grabbed the propane tank and got it re-installed and got Brock settled in to finish up his work day. Tonight is his quarterly meeting with his whole Weston team which is a three hour phone call while the rest of us either stay out of the trailer or find quiet activities within.

Brighton and Brynna headed up to the rec room to get on the camp wifi. Spence and Sky started watching one of our movies in the bunkroom and I sat in there with them to make sure we were quiet while I worked on my computer. Brock got his meeting underway and worked smoothly with that.

Just before 6 o'clock, I chatted Bryn to tell her to come down to the trailer and she and Brighton could get their suits on and I'd take all the kids up to the pool. They'd been wanting to get into it the whole time we've been here, but it never worked out until tonight. Since the rain never materialized in our part of the map, we went ahead up to the pool and enjoyed the water as the temps and humidity were both so high again.
This little guy came and visited my table right as I sat to watch the kids swim.
I was waiting to get hot enough to want to get in. :O)
We swam for about an hour and it was time for Brock's call to end and I needed to get dinner going so we came back to the trailer and got into our dry clothes. We eventually all ate dinner together and it was past time for the little boys to get into bed.

Tonight's sunset was really beautiful and I enjoyed watching it for a few minutes and smiled in the knowledge that there are lightning bugs here in Ohio too.
