Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Kennedy Space Center

We had an awesome day at Kennedy Space Center. I think we actually didn't get to see everything we wanted to, but it was a full day and everyone enjoyed what we did get to see.

It was great time for us to go because they just moved the space shuttle Atlantis to its new home, a future exhibit at the Space Center, and it will soon go under wraps until the exhibit opens. It was pretty surreal to be so close to something that had so many successful missions into space.

3 McFarlane Astronauteers
We thought this could be our upgrade.

A highlight of the day, at least for Brock and I, was getting
to hear Brazilian Astronaut Marcos Pontes speak.
Launch Facility
Apollo engine booster
Saturn V Center
Really amazing just how huge these things are - one of the Apollos
Apollo 14 Module

Two wild and crazy guys
We got to see a 3D IMAX movie on the space station that
was really fun and interesting. Made you feel you were
there with the astronauts.
Northrup T-38 Talon Jet - 1965
Creeped out by how many alligators we saw today. This one was in a
pond at the Space Center. Our bus tour guide told us they move faster
than a race horse in the first 50 feet (or yards, I can't remember). Either way
we'll be keeping our distance. This was all the way zoomed on my camera. :O)
We finished the day eating astronaut food for dessert, freeze dried ice cream!

We are still at Seasons in the Sun RV Park in Mims, FL, but plan to check out and move to Orlando tomorrow.

  1. Wow! Looks like a great time! Glad that you got to spend most of the day there. 50, pouring rain, and gusty at the Oregon coast so stay where you are! ;)
