Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

On to Sedalia

Today dawned beautifully clear and sunny. The temperature was quite a bit cooler than the last few days. It's moving day today, but checkout isn't until 3 pm, so we have a full day to complete our work before getting ready to pull out.

I don't get tired of seeing the cardinals. This one seemed so bright against the vividly green grass.

Brock had meetings right up until time to go so we got as much ready as we could until he was available for the actual hookup. He even finished his last meeting of the day down in the dump station area. We were technically out of our site at 3, but we didn't really leave the campground altogether until about 4 pm.

I got to watch a beautiful butterfly flit from dandelion to clover. It was so cool because it was so plain looking, almost just white when its wings were closed, but when it opened up...ooooohhhh!

Here Heidi is ready to go...

We said goodbye to Blue Springs Campground. It was a good, safe place to be while we were there.

We had a relatively short drive to our next stop, Sedalia, Missouri, where Brock will visit one of his HTG peers' IT company. We hoped to park at the fairgrounds because we'd read that their campground had full hookups and was a reasonable price and their aren't too many choices in this town of 20,000. It turned out to be rather difficult to find the actual campground. We finally found one area with utility posts, but the grass was pretty tall and Sedalia got 3" of rain yesterday so we were thinking no way, when Brock sees there is a guy behind us. He pulled around us and shook his head as if to say don't try it. He motioned us to follow him so we did. He led us pretty much all the way around the fairgrounds to some sites that had a little more gravel and weren't all muddy. Turns out he was security for the grounds and he was the one to take the money for our site. We have the space pretty much all to ourselves except for a few bicyclists camping in tents, but they are about a football field away. The security guy told us that they are traveling the Katy Trail which I guess is a really long bike trail that goes from St. Louis to Clinton, MO. Cool, huh? I would NOT want to be tent camping lately though.

We have full hookups for under $20 a night. That will help our camping budget and I think we are all looking forward to HOT showers again. Good pressure, but cold just doesn't cut it. ;O)

PS Just heard on the news that there was a little tornado that touched down in Knob Noster tonight. It is a tiny place about 20 miles west of here that we drove through on the way here. It's really weird because it was really pretty mellow and clear here.
