Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Yay for State Parks

Today we enjoyed having the privilege of staying in a Texas state park versus a gravel parking lot. We enjoyed being surrounded by trees and grass and hearing the birds sing versus being surrounded by other RVs and hearing traffic go by.

We hung around our campsite pretty much all day. The kids thoroughly enjoyed playing with lots of other kids in the forest and playground behind our trailer. We hardly saw them all day.

Brock and I used the quiet time to try to lay out the rest of our route and a tentative timeline.

In the afternoon, we went driving through the park (it's huge) and ended up at a trailhead parking lot where we went for a short family hike. The weather was perfect and the scenery was really beautiful. We went through some open grassy fields, but most of the trail was pretty thickly treed.

Enjoyed seeing the wildflowers coming out
A view of Joe Pool Lake on the hike
Bryn loved the wildflowers too

We kept seeing shells all along the trail

When we got back to the trailer, the kids couldn't wait to get back to the playground and spend more time with their new friends. They played Lava Monster, Traffic Jam, and Charades. They stayed there until we called them back for a very late dinner, after 8 pm.

By the way, I'm thankful to be feeling much better today. I kinda hate that in the last eight and a half months traveling with our family of six, we've gotten away with zero doctor appointments and the one to break our streak was me. :o)
