Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Proactive Vehicle Maintenance

Brock took the Yukon in to get the brakes checked this morning just being proactive. The plan was to mail a few packages after that and then head to Brandon's office to work. The kids and I were staying at the RV park and working on our schoolwork.

My phone rang around lunch time and it was Brock. He said he was still at the brake shop and got the dreaded "Can I show you something?" Oh, how we hate to hear those words. Turns out we needed to replace the front shocks, turn the rotors, refurbish the calipers, replace a rear seal on the brakes, replace the shoes on the rear, do an oil change, balance the tires.

Brock spent the entire day working in the waiting room of the brake shop. Thankfully they had wifi available there. He never did make it to the post office or to Brandon's office.

The kids and I finished up our school work and enjoyed hanging around the campsite reading and playing learning games and walking the dog.

Just before 7 pm, Brock came and picked us up and we all left to meet Brandon for dinner at Sea Island Shrimp House. Spencer decided to try the catfish and shrimp. He was not a fan of the catfish and he thought the shrimp tasted different than "west coast shrimp". I said that I thought he was not as big a seafood man as he thought and he said he thought maybe he only liked Grams' seafood. :O)
The other kids all got hamburgers so I guess we might be a little disappointing in the seafood lover department.

The worst part about the day is the fact that something is still not right on the Yukon and Brock is going to have to take it back tomorrow.
