Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Ice Age Trail - John Muir Memorial Park

We had a nice leisurely Saturday morning. We laid around in our pjs. Brock and I looked at homes online for sale or rent in Bend. We had some pancakes and peppered bacon for breakfast. We all got showered and dressed.

We headed out to explore the little town of Montello and to find a trail that we'd seen online that was within the John Muir State Natural Area. I think we were a little early for the peak of wildflower season, but it was still really pretty and the trail around Ennis Lake was nice with some shade.

After our short hike around the lake, we drove into downtown Montello and looked around. One of the main features is a park featuring Granite Falls. Evidently there used to be a quarry in the area that supplied the high quality granite for Grant's Tomb.

We intended to get a treat at a little old-fashioned candy and ice cream shop, but we ended up just looking around and leaving. It was crowded with other treat seekers on a day like today. ;o)

We headed back to the trailer where we hooked up our cable TV and just vegged out. It was nice.

We had pizza for an easy lunch/dinner combination meal and enjoyed a relaxing rest of the day together.
