Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Sleepy Sunflower RV Park

The biggest thing to report about today was that the kids and I went grocery shopping...at a Safeway. We hadn't seen a Safeway in a long time so that was kind of exciting. It wasn't the greatest store we've been to, but it was ok and the people were nice and despite not being able to locate some of the items on my list, I was able to fill our cart up to the top. I get a certain amount of satisfaction from having some meals planned and having the stuff to prepare them so, in that way, the trip was a complete success.

Today, Brock had his first day back after a week's vacation. It was a little rough of a transition since some of the day the kids had a hard time not being hyper and loud in the trailer. We would send them out to play on the little playground here at the park, but it would be a short-lived solution because it is pretty hot here, in the 90's, and the kids weren't enjoying those temps for too long with no shade around. They had far too much screen time today which helps promote peace in the now, but ended up causing some whiny-ness on their parts towards the end, so I intend to watch that a little better in the near future.

Since we arrived later last night, we needed to go and register and formally check in this morning and I think this park is our new winner for best rate for us. The people running it are very nice, welcoming, cheerful and helpful. It is a Passport America participating park and the rate was only about $15 a night! It has good wifi and a nice laundryroom which are big plusses for us. It has the playset which is nice, but it is more of a backyard size than a park size. The one drawback is the road noise since we are just off I-80, but our air conditioning fan running seems to provide enough background noise to take care of that for the most part. Being that close to the freeway will make our exit that much easier and help us to continue our way West.
