Welcome to our Adventure...

We packed up the kids, dog and the trailer and headed out for adventure, learning and helping others. During our adventure we will try to update this site as often as possible to keep everyone interested involved in our travels and to keep a journal for ourselves. The plan is to be working, schooling, helping and sharing on the road for a year.
Please feel free to post comments and questions! Thanks for following!

Lake Macbride State Park

Not a lot to report about today. We got up and ate a quick cereal breakfast along with the requisite coffee and cocoa. Then, it was time to pack up our camp site and pull out.

We had a about a three and three quarter hour drive to get to our next camp spot which is at Lake Macbride State Park.

About half way, we stopped at a rest area for sandwiches and a restroom break and then got back on the road to continue to the little town of Solon, Iowa. We made it to the campground and got set up and the kids made their own fun.

Brynna put Iowa on the map!
Anne wasn't feeling too well with coming down with a cold so we switched our meal plans up a bit and I made some burritos for the group for dinner.

Keith went into the forest and brought back a little bit of dead wood for firewood so that we would have enough for two more fires.

We enjoyed alittle more campfire time and then hit the hay with the frogs and cicadas sounding more like an alarm clock than lulling us to sleep.
